Conservation Monitors
Working in teams of three, our Conservation Monitors visit over 40 protected properties each year. Collectively, our monitors visit more than 10,000 acres of protected land each year, hiking, taking photos, completing reports, and identify issues of concern for our stewardship department. Minimum time commitment is two field trips per year plus two training days. Training for new monitors is held every year in October.
Go To Gang
The Go to Gang is a group of volunteers who are our on-call stewardship crew. In addition to completing routine maintenance projects on SLT’s preserve properties, the Gang also responds to emergency situations such as downed-trees, blocked roads or fire hazards. Without their help, SLT staff would be swamped with the never-ending details of protecting the land forever! Time commitment is flexible; projects occur on various properties throughout the year.
Organizational Assistance
Our office volunteers, friends and supporters help with a range of projects, from fundraising efforts, technical assistance, hikes, outings, to events and more. If you have a special skill you would like to offer, please contact us to get involved!
